In 2006, CNN came to the BioKing production facility in the Netherlands and filmed inside it. The footage shows the biodiesel production process and Hans van de Ven filling a car with the fuel produced on site.

Crown Prince Haakon of Norway
In 2006, Crown Prince Haakon of Norway — now King Haakon — visited the BioKing facility in the Netherlands, accompanied by a Norwegian government delegation. The visit included a tour of the algae photobioreactor production line.

In November 2007, Biodiesel Magazine featured BioKing on its cover under the headline "Breaching the Commercial-Scale Gap," with the subheading "Dutch Firm Markets Industrial-Scale Algae Photobioreactors."

Biodiesel Magazine reported on BioKing's expansion into Canada, including the opening of a production facility in Lethbridge, Alberta, the company's North American customer base, and its plans for further facilities in Colorado and Malaysia. The article was written by staff writer Lindsey Irwin.
