2. What data we collect

We collect only the data necessary to provide independent dog assessment services:

Contact data — name, email address, phone/WhatsApp number, country
Dog data — breed, age, location, purpose of assessment, health records provided by you
Assessment data — test results, video recordings, photographs, written reports
Payment data — invoicing details (processed by our payment provider; we do not store card numbers)
Communication data — emails, WhatsApp messages, and notes from calls

3. Why we collect it (legal basis)

To deliver the assessment service you requested (contract)
To issue certificates and maintain the public registry (legitimate interest)
To comply with tax, legal, and animal-transport obligations (legal obligation)
To respond to enquiries (consent, when you contact us)

4. How long we keep it

Assessment reports and certificates: retained for the life of the certification plus 7 years
Video/photo evidence: retained for 3 years, unless part of an active dispute
Enquiries that do not lead to an assessment: deleted after 12 months
Financial records: retained for 7 years as required by Dutch law

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with:

Our veterinarians, trainers, and assessors (to perform the assessment)
Our accountant and legal advisors (where required)
Government authorities (where legally required)

Where data is transferred outside the EEA, we use appropriate safeguards under GDPR.

6. Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your data, and to request data portability. To exercise any right, email info@canistestis.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. The "last updated" date will always reflect the current version.
