Where it started

Canis Testis did not begin in the dog world. It began in another one.

For more than fifty years, our founding team worked in industries where verification is everything — manufacturing, international trade, production, and logistics. Industries where a claim on paper means nothing until someone independent checks it.

We came to working dogs because we saw the same problem we had spent our careers solving. A market where the seller describes, the buyer hopes, and nobody independent checks.

So we built the thing that was missing.

Who we are

Canis Testis is an independent assessment body for working dogs. We are not a kennel, a breeder, or a seller. We do not train dogs for sale, and we take no commission from anyone who does.

We are building our assessor network now — licensed veterinarians and certified trainers who will carry out every assessment in person, and whose names and credentials will appear on every report we issue.

We will not publish a single report until the assessors behind it can stand behind it with their own names.

What we do

We assess working dogs — health, temperament, and capability — against a published protocol. Every test is filmed. Every finding is documented and signed. Every certified dog is listed in the public registry.

We assess dogs for buyers, owners, security firms, police units, and breeders across Europe and internationally. We do not tell you whether to buy a dog. We tell you what the dog is.

That is the whole of what we do. And it is the only thing we do.

What we are built on

Our assessment protocol will be built on established working-dog standards and recognised testing practice — the same frameworks used by police, military, and certified trainers across Europe.

We will publish the protocol, version it, and apply it the same way to every dog. We do not claim scientific validation. We claim consistent, documented, independent assessment — which is a different thing, and in this market, a rare one.

Where we are now

Canis Testis is new. The team is being assembled. The protocol is being written. The first assessments will begin once both are ready.
